I have a 2008 Vantage 6 speed, mostly when it is cold (first 10 minutes of driving) or intermitent I have a whine thats sounds like a bearing noise that goes away when I put the clutch in. The car has 24,000 miles and I think it is the original clutch, but it shifts fine, the clutch does grab a little high. Do you think this could be a throw out bearing, clutch, or a gear in the trans, and are any of these covered by warranty. Thanks

I'd lean towards a pilot or throw out bearing. In my experience anything related to the clutch assembly is not covered uner warranty without a lot of arguing.

Warranty claims are definitely at the discretion of the dealership's service department, it's possible to get someone willing to help.
Before paying out of pocket, keep in mind this could be caused by a design flaw in the part which hasn't been corrected. This would mean you're paying to fix a problem that could recur later on. |
