Default V8 Vantage NEW Parts and modifications.

Hi, I am designing several parts for my V8 Vantage 2007. I am a professional car designer and have worked in the automotive industry for nine years, and have worked on several sports cars. Thus, I have access to various machines, materials, 3D scanners etc…

Since there is a lack of accessories and parts available apart from the ProDrive parts (but they are extremely over priced), I thought I would make my own, using the best technology and parts available, and if anyone is interested they will be available for a fraction of the parts currently available.

I am initially going to make a carbon fibre front splitter, and a carbon fibre rear diffuser. I will engineer the parts such that they will fix to the car using existing brackets. I am then going to design a rear spoiler that actually looks good and is functional (I will be doing aerodynamic tests on it).

I also plan to design a replacement side(wing) mirror holder, one which is chrome that matches the trim around the window, so it all looks one part.

If anyone is interested please let me know, since I am going to make parts for my car anyway.

Regards

Default Hi

Hi,

My name is Frank. I just got my morning frost white V8 Vantage 2008 3 weeks ago - i am definitely interested if you are making parts for your vehicle - i was hoping someone was making sick looking carbon fiber parts... are you still doing that?

Hope to hear from you.

Frank

I hope you will posts pictures of the fruits of your labors. It does seem to me that at present owners of these cars are having to pay far more than they should for such parts.

Best Regards,

Frank, I work for a company named William Rau Automotive Woodwork. We do tons of work for Aston Martins. Currently we are working on a DB9. We are changing out the entire factory wood package and converting it into carbon fiber. Along with that we are doing the exterior mirrors and mirror supports, so when it is finished it will look like a DBS! We have pictures of our work on the website which is www.rau-autowood.com

Cheers,
Shad

Dear Shad,

Is there any chance you can post some photos of the factory or better yet some of the items you folks are supplying to the company. Will the Carbon Fiber be the typical color or will it be in special colors?

Best Regards,

Thomas Carey

Thomas,

I want to make one thing clear, we do not supply Aston Martin directly. After reviewing my post, I can see where that confusion would be enabled. We do work for Aston Martin dealers and private owners. Now as far as the carbon fiber, obviously black is the standard color, but we can do any color you would like. William Rau did a Glacial Blue carbon fiber interior for the 2007 LA Auto Show, in a Jaguar. We also, as recently as a couple of months ago did a Tungsten colored carbon fiber set. We can color key the carbon fiber too any color. I will get some photos posted hopefully by the end of this week.

This is my first posting. I have a Ferrari 360 Modena which drives wonderfully. However I think its time for a change and I am strongly considering a Vantage.

I am curious. Would you consider producing lightweight parts like bonnet, doors or wings etc. If you could the weight saving would have a very positive effect on performance and drivability.Loosing some weight will increase 0 - 60 times, corner better and offer better fuel economy.

enkahnz vehicle body specialist - specialist in customizing vehicles and accident repair work. enkahnz proffesionally painted my db9 in morning frost pearl white it looks fabolous. they also did the interior colour coding. a bodykit on the car will be mind blowing, i would be interested depending on how it looks and get them to fit it.

looking foward to pics>>
