Post Aston V8 'X' Pack 80's

I have been looking for a nice manual example of the V8 for some years, and came across one that said it had the Oscar India styling, (so post '78 pre '85), but had the addition of being a 480+ BHP X-Pack Vantage?

What does all this mean? Is it a Factory Std. Model ?

Answered my own questions with a bit of research...

Basically no such thing as an X Pack...AM put an 'X' suffix on the later engines to denote lead free heads, true they did have more power but only a slight (10%) increase. The factory did do a series of upgrade packages upto 6.5 Ltrs approx 500 BHP, the most common and the most driveable being the 6.3 ltr 480 bhp version.

380 V8 Vantages were built, most were manuals...between '78 and '89...that's only 34 cars a year, makes Ferrari and Lamborghini production look efficient... but then again these truly are hand built cars...
