Default DB9 Fuel Guage

Anyone having or have had an issue with:

A. Fuel guage unable to truly register a full tank (pump stops yet guage never lifts to more than 1 notch below the full mark.

B. While driving, fuel guage suddenly drops to "E". Then eventually pops back to where it was prior to the drop.

I'm suspecting the fuel sending unit, for when the needle drops, my rage indicator displays the "---" symbols. I'm almost certain that range is simply calculated by the fuel sending unit position. Certainly the range indicator is not registered by the guage itself, meaning that the guage is not the faulty part in my case.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks,

Nick

My check engine error is "fuel level sensor fault". I don't see it in the diagram. Do you have something that shows where? If like my other cars, should be in top of fuel tank.

Thanks for your help.

If I'm not mistaken, the vent valve vents fuel vapor pressure when overfilled with fuel. Usually, the level sensor is a float that rises and drops with the fuel level. I guess it could be different on this car.
