Is this a good trade?

Hi, I am just currently working on a deal to trade in my 2004 porsche c4s and my 06 masserati gransport. Both are convertable. They would give me a 08 am vantage roadster with the paddle shifting. My question is should i add a few bucks and go for the 09 manual? I have been researching for days now and i have seen many comments and video's saying the 09 is a much better ride then the 08 and to also stay away from the paddle shifting.
i have the f1 shifting in the masserati and love but wondering why so much negative feedback on the am or could it be when something is so perfect they need to find something to complain about!
