Default Ipod, Bluetooth, Etc

Hello All,

New to the forum, so please be gentle... We are a small electronics firm building little bits to make Aston Martins even nicer than they are already....

We already have a few items available, however what I really would like is a wish list of electronic kit that owners would like fitted to their cars. I can't promise they will all make into production, however as a small firm we can always do prototype stuff, and quite often if I can't, I often know a man who can!

I have dealt with Aston Martin Dealers and Clients for a couple of years now, and without doubt they are the nicest bunch of people out there. I still get goosebumps whenever I Must test a car........

BTW. The new DBS Volante is Jaw droppingly stunning. I've proposed but she didn't answer.. And I think my wife might complain!!

Many Thanks for your time,

Kind Regards

Paralight

I just took at your website and assume you've likely have a solution for retro fitting a mp3 hookup to pre 08 vantages?

I've have been reading on the internet and figured out that I'd be looking at a MOST device. Question is; could you tell me which system infact works with the Aston's? Not sure if this a hush hush or something you'd prefer not to reveal. Then I assume it will need to be reprogrammed to accept the new input. I've already downloaded the manual from Aston Martin in terms of disassembly of the main stack.

Anything you could supply would be great.

Yes, after much investigating and developing, we have an aftermarket Ipod, USB interface for the Pre-08 MOST Aston Martin.

The installation is not easy, some of the dealers even prefer to let us do the installation rather than undertake it themselves, although I have offered training. With trim removal, orientation of Fibre Cables etc, there is a lot can go badly wrong, which will then prevent the car from starting. Part of the deal to get info from AM, was to agree to very stringent installation protocols. To this end at the moment I have done all the installations myself.

Currently I am installating all over the UK. However we are now getting enquiries from all over the US. As soon as I can get 4-5 installations in each area then I will make a visit across and install the kits myself. That way, vehicle warranty is also upheld with the factory. Should any AM dealers or specialist Car Hi-Fi installers want to supply and install the kit themselves then I will happily offer training, they will then have to agree to install in the agreed manner, otherwise there may be problems with warranty.

Now, I agree in an ideal world we wouldn't have a need to jump through such hoops. However with such an Iconic brand as Aston Martin, they want to keep a very close eye on how things are done. At least we have a workable solution that gives Ipod info on the ICM and also control at a competitve price.

£599.00 inc VAT (GBP)
$800.00 (USD)

Paralight,

We specialize in doing EXACTLY what you describe here in the US. We would not need training, as we work very close with one of the larger US AM dealers here. Can you PM me, and or view our website. We would love to discuss this further.

Paralight, Welcome to the site, sounds like an excellent product. Do you have anything for the iPhone?

Andrew,

Sorry for the delay in replying, busy installing stuff...

What would like for the Iphone? We already have available, an Integrated Ipod solution, control and display via the MOST for viewing and control through the radio display. Iphone 3G compatible and also upgradeable.

The Bluetooth kit, is an adapted Parrot CK3100 with a specially designed cable loom to allow connection to the front speakers without doing any damage to the car. We have now also designed an adaptor to integrate the existing Bluetooth control buttons from the steering wheel, if the car has the factory Bluetooth fitted. Result, extremely good call quality, fully compatible with 99% of Bluetooth phones on the market and also upgradeable.

We are currently working on a newer Bluetooth solution which will use later Parrot products but still integrate with steering wheel controls. Reversing camera to integrate to the Nav screen, automatically opening when reverse is selected. Front radar/sonar for low kerb stones or speed humps to protect lower lip of bumper. A reliable ADR (Automatic driver recognition) tracker than we can offer to Aston Martin drivers that do not have the factory fitted tracker (UK models only, so personal imports do not have trackers).

We also have another clever parking sensor for the front (and rear, if required), unfortunately, it has rather an annoying side effect. When the car has a laser gun fired at it, the parking sensor makes the camera read zero. It does alert you to this so you can switch it off of course...

Do let me know if there is anything else that the Aston Martin owner (who has everything) would like.

Kind Regards

Paralight

Default hi every body

Hello everybody,
this is my first post here in aston martin forum,
ive been interested with this car for a long time, but i would like to ask several questions because i don't believe my local dealer, the specification brochure says that the engine is 510 hp with a flatout of 191 mph, while the dealer says it's 525 hp, flatout 205 mph, this is a big difference, because the fastest dbs i saw is 192 mph vmax at nardo track, so what is the real performance from the dbs, please dbs owners & testers reply me, I'm in a hurry to know i'm really really stuck by it's beauty but the performance is sort of weak for a (( supercar )) as aston martin claims ......
