Default New to this site - Advice on DB9

Hi,

I'm new to this site and new to Aston Martin, like most men started with a dream which I am hopefully going to fullfill in the next few months which is buying a DB car, a DB9 in particular. I have my first test drive tomorrow morning in one and am like a kid waiting to see what Santa has bought me in the morning waiting for this.

Why I have set up this thread is to get some advice and hopefully some knowledge on a car that is a total dream for me to own. I hear so much negativity about reliability and such that I would like advice from guys and girls that own or have owned one. Also maybe gaining some pointers as to what to look for and the main issues I should be aware of. I am looking to buy a 2004 - 2007 car and any help or advice would be bery much aprreciated.

Thanks
Benjy

Congrats on your new endeavor! Hopefully you find the right car. Realistically you need to have a qualified mechanic inspect the car before you purchase it. There are a number of issues any car can suffer from that only a professional with a lift can find for you.

As a an owner, you should look primarily for squeaks, rattles and vibrations. Be sure to operate every button, knob and switch. Open all the doors, hood, trunk gas door.

Electrical glitches are the most common issues so be sure the alarm and stereo all operate correctly. Lock and unlock the car with the key fob and all of that.

Also be sure to have the same inspecting mechanic comb over your service records to be sure the car has been maintained and wasn't a problem car needing an unusual number of repairs.

Best of luck!
