Default Program Remote Fob 2008 Vantage

I just purchased a 2008 Vantage that came with only one key and one fob. The dealer only sells the fobs in pairs for about $600 plus programing. I found the same fob used for about $80, it is a five button model from a DB9 will this work on my Vantage, and can I program it myself. I heard these fobs are made by Volvo and found a web site that said these fobs need the original 16 digit code to program.Thanks.

the fobs are the same for the db9 and v8v, but are useless without all the correct codes, and would take dealer equipment so only a specialist or a dealer would be able to program it,

Default Program Remote Fob

Thanks , Would the Aston Martin dealer be able to program the used one if it does not come with the codes. I understand they have to pair it up with my car, but I am afraid they will say it is no good without the original codes the remote itself came with. Thanks

Unhappy

Had the very same problem. I doubt the dealer would help you even if he could. That's how they make money. I decided to buy just the additional key. It has an inner component (visible with x-ray) that also has to be programmed at the dealer.
