Default Jaguar XJR 15 - AMOC Club Racing

Went to look at a Jaguar XJR 15 recently. I checked with the AMOC and they indicated that it was both eligible and would be quite welcome in two of the race series that they sponsor. Idea was to find a car that would be both competitive on the track and could be driven both to/from the track. After quite a bit of research have decided not to go ahead as the cost of bringing it back up to spec and legalizing it is more than I am will to spend but have to admit the XJR 15 is an impressive machine. What the XJ220 should have been.

Wow - what an awesome looking car.
How much is involved in bringing it back to spec?

Somewhere in the neighborhood of GBP 20-30k depending on the condition of the engine (which right now is unknown).

Unfortunately this is the case with a lot of these rare very linited production supercars. Cheap (and very tempting) to buy but very expensive to get back on the road.

I thought they were death traps?

I've done a few races in the Super GT AMOC series and i guess this is where you were thinking. It would have good competition, but sadly grids are small.

That was the broad plan. Unfortunately the car ended up as a no go.
