Default USA DB7 Vantage Market Values

I'm on the East coast & in the market to purchase a DB7 Vantage. I've been watching listings vs. activity on 4 or 5 websites here for the past 6 months. My sense is the coupes (convertibles are in worst shape) are well under $50k, regardless of asking prices. Last week I made an offer on an '01 with 20k mi in very good condition to an East coast dealer for $42k. Asking price was $50k & it was turned down. Yet, dealer could not provide any comp sales, though I could. We all want our cars to be worth the max, but really, was my offer that far off?

I would have to see the car, but I think you were maybe just a little bit low. Did they not offer any form of counter offer? I am shopping for something similar as well, but expect to pay maybe 48 max for something similar. I would think they would counter close to 45/46, but it all depends on color combo/options and condition.

I would most definitely go with a coupe over a convertible as well. Better resale and less maintenance.

I agree with you. Mid-40s or so. It's interesting how most sellers are asking $59k or $55k. The convertibles are really taking a bath even though they stickered for $10k more. I've seen a couple of the GT versions go awfully cheap. What features are on your checklist?

Coupe, British Racing Green, under 40k miles.

Aside from that it's just wow features that have been outdated anyway.

I have been watching EBAY though as I have seen quite a few Vantage's go very cheap there.

Been considering this one:

I flew down to see that car. Couldn't make a deal at the time. But this week I did at the price you & I felt was market. Had I not been able to buy it, I knew there would be another one that would pop-up eventually. I should have it delivered this week. By the way the color is Chiltern Green, which is lighter than BRG. I'm leaving my '97 840 behind for a new adventure.

I paid $46k for that DB7. That included their administrative fees & delivery to the Phila. area. Time will tell if I made a good buy. Note, sometimes lowballing too low can turn a seller off, whereby they show you the door. If you can show them comp sales or a batch of asking prices from the net, it makes it a little easier. Whereabouts are you located?

I am in Utah. I am excited enough to drive the car back from any state though. That has never bothered me. It s finding one that is tough. I bid on ebay, I think they have to expect you start low.

I bought a car far out of state. It was sitting at a Chevy dealer in Texas while they tried in vain for 2 months to sell it.

I paid $40K even for the 2002 DB7 Vantage showing 38K miles, with tons of options including premium wheels. It requires about $2500 in repairs to be good as new. I am told the original asking price was $63K.

There is a Pentland Green 2001 at Aston Martin of New England with 14k mi. I contacted the owner 6-7 months ago when he was trying to sell it on his own. At the time he was trying to get $55k as that was what this dealer told him it was worth. He struck out on Ebay several times & took it over to this dealer & most likely it's on consignment. Price $59k! When I was corresponding with the owner I got the impression the colis & plugs had not been changed.

I picked up a DB7 Vantage Volante earlier this year for about 24k American. Its got a bit higher mileage, but the service history is spotless.

That 2001 DB7 at AM of NE that I wrote about previously, is now priced at $49,850.
