I just purchased a 2012 Rapide with only 28k miles 3 months ago, and after only putting 300 miles on the vehicle, an urgent “Emissions Service” notification came up on the dash. When I purchased the vehicle, the dealer (not an Aston dealer) told me they could not offer a Warranty on this specific vehicle, so I had to buy it ‘as is’
Supposedly the dealer did a complete inspection of the vehicle. Now it’s sitting at the Aston dealership where they are telling me that the the engine is toast and I have to buy a new engine...ARGH!
Anyone have any words of advice or suggestions? Thanks 🙏

Try to ask AM that u will buy extended warranty and then they can fix it. Because this issue should not be like that.

However if u didn't get anything, dont change the engine.
Go to a garage u trust and open the engine parts. The AM V12 under heavy use will have problem with piston head and rod, or the crankshaft.
So if that the problem then u can buy proformance parts wich is cheaper and better the OME.

no way should a 2012 V12 have issues unless its been abused very badly, early cars did have oil starvation problems usually affecting the rear cylinders, but that has been cured on later cars. Does this car have service records? Also a AM dealer saying you need a new engine is BS....what exactly has gone wrong, what is broken, I have had emission warnings, it was a faulty sensor. Only thing I can think of is that some issues with the primary cats being ingested into the engine?

Basically need more detail

Its very possible you had misfire which can cause the breakdown of ceramics in catalyst. This will then be sucked into the engine due to the close proximity to the ports. It may not be a full rebuild depending on how much was ingested however it does cause serious damage.
Bamford Rose on YouTube explains this in detail.

Sorry to hear that and hope you got it sorted. Probably too late for you now, but for anyone else needing a V12 replacement please see my response to a post detailing the costs involved, from my recent experience of engine replacement. Includes some photos of the body and chassis decoupling and the parts list required to replace the long block after the big-ends went at 18500 miles.
