The internal support cracked at the bottom, through the hole the grub screw uses to secure the support to the plinth. I have a new support, was wondering the best way to disconnect the wires in the mirror so I could replace the old one.

Take the mirror off. You will need to be careful and use
a thin wallpaper scraper.This will get behind the mirror and
cut through the adhesive.It should not break,if it does e-bay
are cheap enough.
