“I do question why AML did this as 2022 was already going to be another “annus horribilis”. Even with the huge Q4 push, AML’s 2022 losses more than doubled to £495 million (vs. a loss of £214 million in 2021). Personally, I would have tanked Q4 and set myself up for a very strong Q1 2023, not the other way around. “

Haha…well I suppose, if just a few short months ago, you wooed some new investors, e.g. PIF, by telling them how well and rosy things were going this year you might feel a little different about falling in your sword just yet. Might make more sense to let the bigger mess appear a little bit down the road. By then, you can figure out a number of reasons why this was unforeseen and beyond your control.

Yes, but he's going to need to get on with wooing some more new investors shortly 😂

Thank you for the insightful document and overview. While I agree that Astons results are far from stellar, it seems that they are continuing to forge ahead with new model upgrades that are beyond skin deep. For that I am thankful. Irrespective 2022 has been a tough year all round so they need be cut some slack. Lets remember that even the veritable Porsche is now quoting 18 months for most new 911 models, while the Jag Ftype R75 isn't even quoting anything as they are so intent on going electric and competing with Bentley...good luck with that. While Mercedes have simply walked away from this segment. That said and as a Porsche past owner with over 14 of their cars under my belt...the Aston is a totally different experience and drop dead gorgeous. Long may it survive and flourish.
