I recently had some issues with my car from a previous post, and took it in and had them change the transmission fluids and said the car is fine, car turns on and is driveable but after 10 mins of driving it started to go in the fail safe mode, so i pull over turn the car off and back on and it clears it and starts to drive fine again only to go back into fail safe mode once the car seems to get into 6th gear above 3k rpms, any one had this problem in the past?

Sorry to say this, but I think the clutch is starting to slip.

This usually starts to manifest itself when the car in the highest gear and under load.

The engine management system will pick this up and put the car in a reduced power failsafe mode so you can get it to a garage.

Reading your previous post about the car not being able to move away from a standstill is also an indication of a clutch issue, the clutch itself or its operating system.

yea when i took it in they said that it could be my clutch or possibly my transmission, but that it might be drivable in the mean time so they changed my oil, the transmission fluids and installed these RSC air filters Ive had for a while

Ive found the replacement clutch on sites like eBay for around $2k and im assuming around the same in labor, but if its the transmission i have no idea whats it goings to cost
