Hello,
I am considering looking at a 2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante, but have concerns about the automatic transmission. I drove a early 2000's Maserati and did not like the "F1" type transmisson. Can someone provide information?
Thanks
Scott

The 12 cylinder cars used a 5 speed ZF 5HP30 transmission used in many other period cars including BMW's V8's from the early to mid 1990's. Its a conventional automatic transmission, not an automated manual transmission like the "F1" type. ZF built this transmission from 1992 to 2003 so all the bugs should have been gone by 2001.
The BMW forums indicate its very reliable but history of maintenance is important.
