Bertone Jet, one off purchased by Gauntlett

I am an admirer of the Bertone Jet, not the more recent one but the DB4GT based one.
I read that Victor Gauntlett, then Chairman of AM, bought the car and set about restoring it at the factory. I have never read of the price he bought it for, which I am curious becuase I heard the car was burned but I don't know if that was just an engine fire or the whole interior as well. Had the previous owner bought it straight from Berttone?
The car recently sold for a huge amount--$4.9 million-- which I think was due to the fact that Giugiaro is now more well known that back when Gauntlett bought it, anybody have an opinion on that as well?
