I have a beautiful convertible db 9 with only 40000 miles on it with recent catastrophic engine failure in which my mechanic sent off oil to find metal debris throughout oil confirming above. aston martin says a new $33K engine is required with $13K in labor charges. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and would offer suggestions as how to proceed?

The only info I have is that aston did an upgrade on the oil dip stick as the calibration was incorrect and clients were driving with insufficient oil. Has you dip stick been replaced?
