Hey Guys,

This is my first post and I thought I would give you a tip. I recently broke my plastic door latches and was looking for a solution to replace them when I came across a shop specialized in mx-5 that sells a replica in aluminum but with a different design. I ordered a pair already and they arrived today: they look gorgeous and fit just like OEM. I will take some pictures of them and post them on the forum but I can't be happier! The interior looks so much classier with them fitted.

The full kit is around 300 USD + shipping IIRC.

Yes the full set with the door cups, latches and lock buttons is really nice. They have black too but the polished aluminum ones really look great in the DB7 interior.

I wonder if they could be painted?

There are some good paints available these days that if applied well look very much like real chrome. You could then clear coat over the top for added protection.

Build up a few layers so they won't simply rub through quickly.

Might be an option or an interim fix before replacing with genuine alloy/chrome items.
