Has anyone ever encountered this problem? My gauge doesn't move from the full position. Exception of that is when I turn the car off, the needle drops to empty. A bit of a pain as I have to keep tabs of my trip meter for when to refuel.

Could be a failed fuel level sensor, or possibly the sensor ground wire is disconnected/broken. The fuel level sensor is inside the tank, so a non-trivial repair.
