GT12 EUROPEAN TOUR

LONDON TO NICE. 17th – 25th July 2012

After numerous European trips, we have, this year, stretched the boundaries with the tour travelling through France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.
A true driving experience on a researched route, enjoy driving your car on traffic free roads, with fantastic scenery, mountain passes, great company and luxury hotels, selected in most part from the Relais & Chateau and the Leading Hotels of the World.

On 17th July we arrive at Ashford for the train - a short 35 minute journey to Calais.

On arrival we drive towards Reims for our first night’s stay at the Hotel Hostellerie La Briqeterie in the Champagne region.

The following morning we are heading to Baden Baden in the Black Forest, staying at the Brenners Park Hotel & Spa, the hotel has been host to many of the world’s leading dignitaries - President Obama included.

Next day we will be driving along some stunning roads in the beautiful Black Forest to Zurich, where are staying overnight at the five star Dolder Grand Hotel. Its restaurant has recently been awarded 2 Michelin stars, the hotel which dates back to 1899, has an elevated location providing magnificent views of Zurich, the lake and the Alps.

Day three we continue our journey through Switzerland, down to Lugano on the north side of the lake for two nights at Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel & Spa, situated on what’s known as the Golden Hill due to its position overlooking the city of Lugano and lake.

We next move on into Italy, driving across country in the direction of the South of France staying at Relais San Maurizio one of the region’s most exclusive hotels occupies an edifice dating all the way back to the early 17th century, when it was built as a religious retreat for the Franciscan order.

The final outward leg of the trip takes us back into France through the Provence region to the Cote d Azur, situated slightly inland between Nice and Cannes, an ideal location for sightseeing. We will stay for two nights at Les Mas De Pierre – St Paul De Venice situated in 3 hectares of gardens, rooms decorated in romantic , provincial or colonial style. Surrounded by greenery, this hotel offers the provincial way of life in a fine setting of a family home, the restaurant has this year been awarded 2 Michelin stars.
As this is holiday season we envisaged some people may like to take the opportunity and stay on in the area.
