A warm hello to all who stumbles upon this. As the name states, I'm new to the forum but I've been a huge fan of Aston Martin since I laid eyes on my first DB7 in 1997. I've spent the better part of the last decade saving for my very own Aston and with great pride, I can report that I am very close to achieving my dream. My question is, I have roughly 75k to work with and I am wondering, what would be the better buy, a V8 Vantage or DB9? I've seen many commentaries that state the early V8 Vantage (with the 4.3) had some problems in power department. Is this the consensus? Is the 4.7 liter engine really THAT much better? Obviously, there are no "bad" Astons but I'm interested in the opinions of the masses. Also, can I find a quality DB9 for around 70k? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
