Hi everyone.

I live in SoCal. Living in SoCal, I only really look to drive convertibles. I drove a BMW 3-series convertible a while back. I bought it a few years used. It was always in the shop. I swore I would only buy reliable cars thereafter. Subsequently I have been driving a 2010 Lexus IS350 convertible. It is definitely reliable. It is as boring to drive as the BMW was fun. But the BMW was always in the shop and I don't feel comfortable going back to BMW. The Lexus is coming on 200K miles and I'm looking to the future.

At some point I will need a new car. So convertible. Reliable. Having experienced BMW and Lexus, I'd also like something fun. And something cool.

For a while before I learned anything about cars I thought the Maserati convertible was gorgeous. It still is gorgeous. But all my car friends said it will be in the shop more than the BMW. So I looked into Ferrari. A friend has two. He spends IIRC 5K per year on maintenance for well under 500 miles driven. That's insane. I think the California/Roma is supposed to be more reliable than the older ones but I will go crazy if the car must go to the shop several times yearly.

I read that Porsche is reliable as far as German cars go and I think the Targa is beautiful top up or down. But in SoCal you pass 20 Porsches on the way to work every day.

Is there something convertible, reliable, fun to drive and unique? That led me to A-M.

Undoubtedly the best looking classy car (in comparison to the Ferrari that is gorgeous but rock star sexy where the A-M is more gentleman sexy). A friend has one and loves it but that is an N=1. I was wondering the experience of the members as to the reliability of recent models, say 2020-current. Is it reliably in the shop? Does it need maintenance/repairs (other than the usual oil, brakes, etc) often or rarely? How expensive is it to maintain/drive? I'd be looking at using it as a daily driver and using it forever. Let's say 10K miles/year or so. Just wondering if this is more like a Toyota and drive it like regular, just do regular routine maintenance, or more like a few-years-old BMW where every few months it has to go to the shop for something new and expensive.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate it!

I have owned a 2017 Vanquish and a 2019 DBS. Haven't had either for a very long time but everything I have researched ( and I researched a lot ) indicates that they are very reliable.... and James Bond ....you cant go wrong !!
