Just found this forum, very cool site. I don't own an Aston Martin, but hope to some day.

I do carbon fiber work as my profession. I have been looking at Vanquish's online.... predecessor to the DBS; since I cannot afford a DBS.

I love the lines of the car and exotic appeal. I also like that it's British. I do a lot of carbon fiber work for Lotus Elise and Exige's.

I would love to pull " mine" apart and make new cf side skirts ( clear cf ), a lip, and diffuser for the Vanquish.... or a DB9. Also the center console area lends itself nicely to clear carbon fiber work.

I do have some questions about these models... are they reliable enough to be a daily driver? How often are the service intervals for a Vanquish and DB9? On the semi auto transmission with paddle shifters do you have to lift off the gas pedal between shifts during up or downshifting?

Put a plan in your mind and one day you will own one or better car that your plan.

"are they reliable enough to be a daily driver?"
it can be, but as a SuperSport car it should be a weekend car.

"How often are the service intervals for a Vanquish and DB9?"
one year or 11,000 KM.

"do you have to lift off the gas pedal between shifts during up or downshifting?"
No (but I'm not sure if it will Crash the gear in some time: for me I'm not raising my foot).

any query we are here.

New here too! Don't own an Aston now, but hope to one day!
Welcome to the Aston Life forum.

Sorry man the service should be every 16,000 KM / 10,000 Mil.
I asked my dealer about the pedal they said "its OK no need to worry about the gearbox (its automatic wire shifting!!).

I have had a number of AM's and am currently expecting a Vantage V12. the DB9 is more reliable but not as cool as the Vanquish. A 2009 4.7L vantage would be the best choice for the price range that I think that you are shooting for. It performs well and is very reliable. A 4.3L is also reliable though not as fast but it can be modified. I love carbon fiber. I would love to see some bespoke pieces for these cars. Then again my new car is dripping in CF.
