So I've found a 2009 DB9 http://www.projectoneauto.com/web/vehicle_photos/15163465/
And am a week away from delivery. Did the PPI and the only fault was squeaky brakes from sitting and the rear window was slow in going up. Brakes just needed to be used a bit and window has been fixed. They said it was a trade in on a DBS. Anyone know anything about it?
What a whirlwind. If you've got a minute I'll give you my story. So my first Lamborghini turned into a 2010 Roadtrek RV. I had reached a point in my life where I could afford to buy a toy for myself but I love my family and we travel a lot so I sacrificed and did the RV. I've got a wife and two girls. It's been 4 years and I was ready to buy my second Lamborghini. Do I want the doors or not. Was fixated on that for about a half year. Finally decided that a 2008 Gallardo Spyder was the car for me. The search began.
While I was stalking forums, watching videos, going to car shows, I kept thinking, if I get a 2 seater I wont be able to take both my girls for a ride at the same time. I won't be able to yell at them to leave each other alone. When they go off to college and my wife and I go to visit we won't be able to take them out to lunch in the 2 seater. My wife has her girls night out every once in a while and she wouldn't be able to take her crew out in one vehicle. I want her to enjoy it as much as I do.
So I started looking at 4 seaters that could fake it as a 2 seater. Oh, and it had to be a convertible. That brought me to Aston Martin and Ferrari. I was looking at the Ferrari California but read a few, not many, stories about the transmission needing to be repaired on the earlier models (my price range). And bailed. I'm sure any owners would tell me chances were zero to none of that happening but if it did I honestly can't afford that bill.
I've always been a James Bond fan. I am the Director of Technology for our school district and my budget code is 007. Our call sign on the interdistrict radio is 007. Maybe it was just meant to be. So, as stated at the beginning, I have found a DB9 and am having trouble sleeping now as I anticipate its arrival.
I should include that for the past year I've slowly been cleaning out and rearranging the garage to make room for my Lamborghini. The wife has no Idea about any of this. I still need to knock out a wall to make it fit but that's a one day project.
My predicament now is how to introduce them to it. When I bought the RV they had no idea until I picked the girls up from the baby sitters house with it. Then when my wife got home it was in the driveway. I have three ideas right now for the DB9.
1. We go to the movies or dinner and while we're in there I have a friend swap cars. Take the Jeep and leave the AM.
2. We go to our local coffee shop and while inside I have a friend swap cars. This one would be tougher as there would only be a 5 minute window and I'd have to make sure no one gets to 'wait in the car'.
3. I sign them out from school early and pick them up in the AM. Then we go home and park it in the garage so when my wife gets out and comes home she opens the garage door and ....
Anyway, I'm excited to be here and look forward to getting and giving advice, tips, or whatever.
Yes, yes, - without pics it never happened. I'll post when it arrives and then probably get banned in a week for blathering on like a kid about how much fun I'm having and what an expert I've suddenly become:)

Thanks Wayne. Wife just informed/reminded me we are going to my brothers in LaQuinta Ca to watch the polo matches this coming weekend. Hoping the car gets here in time. From New Jersey to California. Shipping it Wednesday. Watching weather for updates. News has been showing a lot of sliding trucks on the freeways back east lately.

So I got the insurance cards in the mail. My wife likes to keep one in her purse so when it said "Cards Inside" she opened the letter and saw they were for an Aston Martin! Oops. "Is this for real?" "Am I going to get to drive it?" "It better be a convertible."
Not the plan I had but at least now I can modify the wall in the garage without questions as to "Why are you cutting a 5 foot tall hole in the wall?" LOL
About 4 days to delivery. Can't wait. Bought the entire James Bond collection in iTunes. Also ordered 4 British Driving Caps and scarves on Amazon:D.
Am I the only one?

Have a delivery date now of the 28th. Loaded some pics of my wall modifications. Needed 5 more feet. When we bought the house there was no wall there. I put one in to make a work room. Then bought a 58 Cadillac Limo so took the wall down. Sold the Limo and closed the wall up. Now getting the AM so opened up and adding the 5 feet. I Love my wife.
Ordered personal plates too.

Keep up the good work, it will be worth it.:)

I moved a wall in my workshop just before Christmas so my Jaguar XJR wouldn't be spending winter outside.

Astonishes me how a lot of the Brits just leave their AM's outsides all year round, when I lived there I rented an industrial unit to avoid leaving my nice cars out in the rain (and occasionally snow)

+1 Wayne, me too. There are some AM owners over here in the UK that have just too much money to appreciate cars thus just using them as a daily tool which in the end kills them.

My DB7VV will be off in to long term secure storage in a few weeks time in readiness for my garage being knocked down and a new bigger, longer and wider one built in place of it with a lift ramp in the floor.:p:D:p

Cant wait to be able to just walk from the Bungalow into the garage without the need to go outside!!!!!:)

So I live in a rather small town. Three stop lights. Many of our streets have a rather large crown to them as over the years asphalt has been added and nothing removed. I think I will have to plan my routes around town because of this. Was thinking of building a beak on the front of my NEV to simulate the AM clearance up front. Anyone have the measurement from center of front tire to tip of bumper and from lowest point of bumper to pavement?

LOL, wish I lived somewhere like that too. Nice and quiet.:D

Loving the cart too!!!!!:eek::D:eek:

Just drive your Aston very SLOWLY at that point all the time and you should be fine with clearance or approach it at an diagonal angle of approach if you are able to.

Tell your neighbour he needs to water his grass too!!!!!!!!

You will scrape underneath the nose, its inevitable.

Mine came pre-scraped as did my Lotus.

The diagonal driveway approach reduces this as mentioned by Brendan, but on these low cars its impossible to avoid doing it at some time or another so its best to forget about it and enjoy the car.

Not really a lawn guy. Actually it's gotten pretty bad. Letting it die over winter and will completely kill it before reseeding this spring.
Started a new thread on the AM. Just signed up for performance driving school on the 21st.
