Pending 2011 Manual V12 Vantage Purchase

Hi All,

First time poster but long time lurker. I'm really close to purchasing a Carbon Black Edition 2011 V12 Vantage. Car has about 10K miles. I've read of some rare cases of letting the oil get low and trashing the engine, but that's the only issue I've run across in my research. Any other issues I should be aware of? Assuming I'm not tracking the car or doing stupid stuff, how long do the clutches typically last?

I drove one this morning and it blew me away. I'm 55, and it was like going back in time...only I never had that much power running through the manual transmissions back then. I'm coming from a 458, and the two could not be more different. Let's just say I'm smitten!

Thanks,

Randy

I have the same car in white. When I purchased mine about a year ago, I did a full service myself and it was rewarding. Also swapped out the door pistons that were sagging and replaced the battery. The car is rocksolid with the exception of the clutch, but so far mine is fine. Enjoy in good health.

By the way, where are you located? I’m in SC.

I'm in the Raleigh, NC area. Still haven't pulled the trigger on the Vantage yet. I have room/budget for one supercar, and right now I have a 2015 458. It's an amazing car, and I'm still struggling with the decision to sell or not. But life is short, I'm getting old, and kinda want to try some different things. If I drive the Vantage for a while and find I want something else, it should hold its value just fine.

So what's the issue with the clutch? Is that a known/common issue?

Thanks,

Randy
