Rearview Mirror Fell Off

All the aftermarket mirror re-glue kits warn you not to use them on plastic "buttons", and all of them say to glue the "button" to the windshield and wait 30 minutes until you mount the mirror to the "button". Since I don't have a "button", I don't see how I can hold the entire mirror assembly in place for 30 minutes, and since it appears to be plastic, I don't see how I can use the repair kits anyway.

So it looks like the typical repair kits probably won't work. Any ideas or known fixes that have worked for anyone. 2000 DB7 Vantage.

I bought a kit made by 3M and I'll try using it, although since it doesn't have a separate detachable mount, I'm still not sure how I'm going to keep pressure on the entire mirror assembly long enough for the adhesive to completely cure. I don't like the thought of having to sit in the car and hold it firmly in place for 15-30 minutes, without letting it wiggle around. But I'll try it and see if it works, and if it lasts. If it doesn't work, I'll have to buy an aftermarket replacement mirror with a conventional "button" mount and that should work.
