Hello. I know the dealer usually charges only $99.00 for the Navigation update at Aston Martin Washington DC. I decided that I did not want to deal with that anymore and did a DIY upgrade to Apple CarPlay in my 2008 Vantage. It’s a bit tricky but can be done and it works perfectly. All current radio, phone and factory NAV remain the same and can still be used. I simply flip a switch in my center console and can switch to CarPlay and all the functions like Siri, Waze, txt read and dictation and Apple Music. I and putting together a full schematic and will post when done with photos. My car did not have a factory AUX which made it a little more difficult but I worked that out with the MOST Aux.

Navigation disc updates

I was told by my dealer that AM switched to a SD card nav system around 2010-11, and there are no update discs past that. Another blogger said he updated his with a Volvo disc (the system is manufactured by Volvo). I contacted a Volvo dealer who looked into it and says that they don't think the current Volvo update disc ($200+ US) will be compatible.

I currently have option of Android Auto (comparable to Apple) in my Cadillac, but I'd be very interested in your instructions for subbing that system for the current navigation on board (although I'd have rather had original graphics and voice etc.).

If anyone has other ideas for updating the existing nav disc, or even access to a "used" replacement disc, I'd be interested.
