In the trunk of my used 2009 Vantage Roadster is a grey plastic cover that should be used with the roof down I assume.

Very much like the tonneau covers in the older British Sport cars, my Morgan M3 has a mohair one.

It has some rectangular plastic anchors that presumably get hooked to something or somewhere

Am not able to see how it fits and have not been able to trace one on the internet. The material tag has the British flag on it so I assume it is not from elsewhere.

Familiar to anyone?

OK I could not live with myself for not trying and now am sure it is a roof protector.

Mine has a tan roof.

The question is that it does not seem to fit properly with the roof closed so could it have been something to protect the roof in transit?

Do not want to risk stopping the roof in mid travel to see it will fit properly or not. My XK8 convertible used to forget where the end of the travel was if you did not hold down the button until fully retracted or closed.
