I own a 2007 Vantage V8 Roadster fitted with Sportshift transmission.
I recently disconnected the battery using “Battery Disconnect Switch” provided in the boot.
I then followed the reset instructions in the manual.
The instrumentation display showed that the car was in neutral, however, when I started the engine the car lurched forward..
A technician was sent by the dealer. When he tried the same sequence the car lurched backwards, despite the instrumentation once again indicating that it was in neutral. He carried out a hard reset several times by physically disconnecting the battery. The results were similar, with the car randomly going into a gear unrelated to that displayed.
The car was transported to the dealer who installed new software which rectified the problem.
Aston Martin themselves maintain that it was a mechanical fault not a software matter.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
