So after a week. I've earned my gas cap badge. Took it straight to the petrol station without opening the manual. After 4 minutes searching Googled it. Earned my trunk lid badge. Manual shows a switch on the center console or by a light under the trunk overhang. My daughter actually found the button. Still looking to see if there is a switch for the rear windows (yes/no)?
Love the interior. I live in the central valley where we hit and stay in the 100's over the summer. Did not want black interior. Wanted classic light tan hides. In my search I wasn't finding the right combination in year, exterior, interior until this one came up. I figured as long as the portion we sit in was tan it would work. So glad I didn't hold out for all tan. Love the two tone!
Tires are a bit noisy on a rough road but on a smooth road wow! Have new Michelin's on the way.
Went to pull fuse 22 and .... gone! Bravo to the previous owner! Oh and the seat presets. Had to laugh when I pushed them all. Number three was set for all the way back. Butt down all the way and legs up all the way. Like sitting in the space shuttle waiting for launch! Ha!
Love the seat. But I keep finding myself sitting a bit forward and having to consciously make myself sit back and relax.
My town is 25 miles from anywhere. And for the past 6 months I've pictured myself cruising to town blasting(safely) past the other cars. What a feeling. The power is just amazing in it's ease.
Pics of my 'stable'. The Jeep is the wife's, cart mine. Installed a pillow and mirror at the front so I wont tap the wall. Have about an inch to the wall, inch between cart and AM, inch from back of cart to garage door.
Pic of the wife taking us for her first drive. Grumpy girls in back and everyone with their hats!
One of the things I like best is how the dirt sweeps around the emblem on the bonnet. Love it!
I just have to say I wish I'd done this earlier. Coming home today at about 90, top down, with AC/DC blasting on the radio(great sound - or maybe bad ears - who cares) life is good.

Planning on doing as much as I can. Brakes, fluids, filters...
I actually changed the brakes on that RV in my pics in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Wisconsin. (Long story)
Had my first race yesterday. Some guy in a charger pulled alongside on the freeway and punched it. I turned up the radio and smiled. That was me about 20 years ago.

High Speed Balance?

Tires arrived today. Michelins. Dumb question? I'm taking them to our local Chevy dealer to get mounted and balanced. Will any standard tire balancing machine work for balancing tires that will be going 150+?
Getting excited about my upcoming track time and don't want to worry about the front end rattling down one of the straights.

I've got access to the school district garage. They've got a pit and a lift. Just have to turn the busyard cameras the other way when I come in :)

I'm still in the process of getting my car registered. Plates are still in New Jersey at dealer. I've sent smog but since it is from another state apparently I have to have the VIN number confirmed by a California police officer and send that too. Till then I've got a 20 day temp.

I do have personal plates on the way. Will post a pic when they arrive (oh the suspense).

DMV is kind of crazy around here since they passed the law that you don't have to be a citizen to get a drivers license. Lines are CRAZY long.

Is it just me or are the cupholders a bit far back.
