Hi,I'm asking this question on behalf of my brother-in- law ( who's sadly dying of cancer) I was trying to take his car DB7 Vantage on a 02 plate to get some new tyres, but it's been sat idle for weeks now,my sister told me they charged it over night and the green light came on the charger box.this morning I went to start it and nothing no lights on dash or anything.thoe button in the boot to turn battery on / off I can't tell which position its in as it moves approx 1mm ! We started it by pressing the other button in the boot battery recover I think it's called. It started, ran for 5 mins then cut out now won't start at all !! When we started it the alarm sounded then cut out
Any ideas please my sisters trying to sell the car due to her husband only having weeks left
Thank you

Hi Stu,

these cars are very sensitive to low battery voltage and a battery with a faulty cell or a low charge can cause all sorts of unusual behaviour including stalling, cranking but non start and the alarm going off. First get the battery tested properly (load tested), If the car has sat for a long period and the battery has discharged its probably sulfated which is making it unable to hold a decient charge. You may be further ahead to simply install a new fresh fully charged battery than to muck about with the existing one.

Sorry to hear about your brother in law

Good Luck with the sale of the car
